...is a novelist, poet, memoirist, playwright and screenwriter.
 
Wingate's stand-alone novel, "Bobby's Diner," received a three-book contract extending the story into a series.
 
The second book in the series entitled "Easy as Pie at Bobby's Diner" will be out May of 2010. The third and fourth are expected to be published late in November of 2010 and May of 2011, respectively. As well, the publisher intends to re-publish the original "Bobby's Diner" as a pocket-sized mass market book.
 
"Camouflage," Wingate's fourth novel (written as Myah Lin) received a finalist award in the 2009 Textnovel Writing Contest.
 
As well, Wingate's second novel, "Bobby's Diner" received two finalist awards in two separate book competitions...
 
  • the 2009 National Best Books Award (USA Book News) and
  • the 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.
 
To date, Wingate has written five novels, two short story collections, a memoir, hundreds of poems, a few plays for theatre and one screenplay.
 
Her books can be found in bookstores across the country and her articles, short stories and poetry can be found in magazines, journals and reviews.
 
Locally, Wingate volunteers with the San Juan Island Library. Together they bring writers, publishers and agents who offer workshops, readings and presentations to the small island community.
 
Wingate is also a co-founder of the vibrant San Juan Island Creative Women's Group. For hobbies, Wingate reads, travels, gardens, dances with her husband, Bob, and she loves to paint.
