 Susan Wingate is a novelist, poet, memoirist, playwright and screenwriter. Her fourth and latest story received a finalist award in the 2009 Textnovel Writing Contest. Her second novel, "Bobby's Diner"  also received two finalist awards in two separate book competitions the 2009 National Best Books Award (USA Book News) and the 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Wingate has written four novels, a short story collection and hundreds of poems. Her writing consistently receives recognition and can be found in many magazines, journals and reviews. Locally, Wingate works in cooperation with the library, theSan Juan Island Library. Together they bring writers, publishers, agents who offer workshops to the small island community. Wingate is also a co-founder of the vibrant San Juan Island Creative Women's Group. For hobbies, Wingate reads, travels, gardens, dances with her husband, Bob, and she loves to paint.
